Additional information on Atticus Clothing
Atticus Clothing was founded in 2001 by March Hoppus and Tom DeLonge, the well known pop punk band 'blink-182'. The Atticus logo, known as the "Resting Bird" depicts a bird lying on its back and allegorises the book "To Kill a Mocking Bird" by the author Harper Lee. The name 'Atticus Clothing' was derived from the main character of the book "Atticus Finch" - Finch is the lawyer who defends Tom Robinson, a black man on trial for rape - Atticus is admired for his stance - no time should be spent on accepting that evil exists but on doing something to counteract it.
The company Atticus is greatly influenced by music and unitl 2005 had already published three of their "Dragging The Lake" CD compilations. The CDs include songs of such well-known bands as Fall Out Boy, Death Cab for Cutie, Taking Back Sunday, Jimmy Eat World, Sugarcult and New Found Glory.
